Werner started his career in 1989 as Management Trainee with Unilever Belgium.
After a year’s training at the Lever Industrial’s Corporate Development & Application Centre in Holland, he transferred back to Belgium to take up the responsibilities of Product Group
Manager Industry (Food & Beverage Hygiene, Laundry and Metal Service Treatment), followed by the appointment as Sales & Marketing Manager for the Belgian Lever Industrial Food & Beverage Division.
In 1995, Werner moved to Lever Industrial Australasia (New Zealand based) to develop the New Zealand/Australian Food & Beverage business unit.
After the merger of Lever Industrial and Diversey (1996), Werner became responsible as Country
Manager New Zealand for the integration of the two businesses.
In 1997 he transferred to Australia were he was appointed as Business Development Director
Australasia.
In May 1999 Werner joined DiverseyLever Consulting with the responsibility for the
development of the food safety and brand protection consulting business within Asia Pacific.
In 2001 he returned to Belgium to take up the lead role for JohnsonDiversey Consulting - Europe.
In 2005 this was expanded to include Middle East & Africa.
Werner holds a Master Degree in Food Science and Technology, which he complemented with
Post-University degrees in Sales Management and Business Administration.
